A We and Wild Goose Chase in New Hampshire

Hello! Miguel here with another American Outback event update.

We just organized a high tech scavenger hunt at a beautiful resort in Mt Washington, New Hampshire and one of the missions was for a the team member to take dip into any body of water. Well, one team member took it to the extreme by actually jumping into the river running through the property – full body. This was well deserved cool off time from all the running around the resort. He didn’t have the opportunity to go to his room and change into dry clothes before continuing with the activity, because of this creative thinking this was the winning team that earned extra bonus points and earned the title of the champion.

Adding technology to your programs and events.

According to meetings and technology expert Corbin Ball, technology continues to move forward at a fast pace, and it’s changing the channels of communication. In the past we've all attended meetings and been asked to turn off our phones. Today, attendees are encouraged to tweet during conferences and share their experience and inspire conversation. Virtual meetings quickly connect people from all over the world.

See the world with a Smartphone Scavenger Hunt
Gone are the days of pens and note pads. Instead, attendees expect wireless everything. People are plugged into their Smartphones and iPads, streaming content and collaborating in the cloud. Convention facilities are noticing these new trends and responding by adding convenient charging stations.

Smartphone scavenger hunts and apps spark engagement between attendees and can allow teams to explore the destination city. These popular conference enhancements are easy to set up, scalable for large groups and can be played anywhere.

Take our quick survey about adding technology to your events!

Giving With Gratitute in Boston

Giving with Gratitude
An End-Hunger Games Event in Boston

Our Corporate Explorer Training designed a custom "End Hunger Games" program to focus on giving with gratitude for Rosie’s Place, a non-profit organization helping poor and homeless women in Boston. Last month, Controllers from a Real Estate Management and Development Company created replicas of property development projects in their portfolio using non-perishable food items. At the end of the team building training session, all food was generously donated to Rosie’s Place and helped to bring nourishment and renewed hope to women living in Boston.

Since 1974, Rosie's Place has evolved from providing meals and shelter to creating permanent solutions through advocacy, education and affordable housing. The “grocery store” contains shelves stocked with donated non perishable food items, meat and fresh produce. Each month, 1,800 women “shop” for 20 - 40 lbs of free food items. Rosie’s Place Groceries uses this culturally sensitive approach to respect the dignity and self-esteem of their guests while ensuring that valuable resources are used effectively.

A philanthropic team building and training event is a meaningful and effective way to give back to your community. Reconnect with coworkers; boost your corporate social responsibility initiatives and truly make a difference. Thanks to all participants for an incredible day and for helping us give back to Rosie's Place and the Boston community. Visit our Facebook page to see more photos!

Best Tasting Award Winning Cooking Team Building in New Jersey

Hello! Miguel here with another American Outback event update.

During this Iron Chef activity, teams were asked to come up with the dessert with the ingredients provided. One team took it to the next level by creating a sherbet from pineapple juice. This thing took a lot of ice and a lot of salt, poured it into a bowl and mixed the juice in a small container sitting in the ice. Mix it for about 30 minutes and the results were just amazing – homemade pineapple sherbet. This thing took the first place for creativity and originality and they were the winning team.
