Corporate Castaways Corporate Team Building Activity in Edmonton

This is event coordinator Esther from Alberta, I have another corporate event update.

From Randall family park in Edmonton this week we had a very enthusiastic group of approximately 130 accounting tax and consulting professionals who brought their A-games to each of our standard CorporateCastaways challenges, including getting very creative with their custom flag and face painting. Honorable mention for that station goes to the creativeness of teams “Account-10s”, “Team 16’s daddy”, and “Donald Ducks”. The “Blind leading the Blind” challenge continues to pose to be one of our more difficult challenges for this group. It requires teams blindfolded to complete an obstacle course with only the aid of the leader’s vocal instructions within a set time frame. The shortest time was for team Dragons who, though it did come down to a tug-of-war tie breaker, also came away with the overall win and an amazing custom flag, authenticated in which they incorporated mud, burn marks and over all castaway look. They ended the event with barbecue and beer while swapping stories and experiences under the early evening sun, thus, ending another successful Canadian Outback Adventures & Events Corporate Castaways.

Iron Chef Challenge Corporate Team Building Activity in Alberta

This is Kristen with another corporate event update.

Our latest event took our Calgary coordinators down to Drayton Valley, Alberta for an Iron Chef Challenge. This challenge took place at an oilfield service company’s office in their back parking lot. It was a perfect spot for the small group of about 20 people. Even though the group was small, they definitely got into it and loved cooking up a storm. Each group presented some amazing dishes for our judges and we all had a great time. It was great because the company was able to invite back one of their retired employees to be a special guest judge on this challenge. Everyone loved having this participant back in the company office and we all had a great time eating the fruits of their labor.

Crime Investigators Corporate Team Building Activity in Calgary

This is Kristen with another corporate event update.

Our latest event in Calgary, Alberta, took us to the west Hill Hurst community center for our Crime Investigators event. This community center is a perfect venue for this event. There’s lots of locations for crime scenes. Utilizing the ice rink, the change rooms, meeting space, and the old bar upstairs created the perfect atmosphere for our Crime Investigators. This public service group really got into the event and loved playing CI agents. In the end, the team that won, won because of their awesome media brief. I felt like I was watching the 6 o’clock news.

Party in the Park Corporate Team Building Activity in Calgary

Hey, this is Esther with another corporate team building event update.

We had a great day today here in Calgary as we hosted a Party in the Park at Edworthy Park for a large group of employees and their families from an oilfield service company. Delicious barbecue is provided by Holy Smoke catering and Canadian Outback provided a variety of fantastic lawn games including classics like croquette and bocce, kid family setups of giant snakes and ladders, connect 4, and team favourites such as soccer and softball. Though this was a casual affair, our client also requested that their enthusiastic employees could rent the mini version of our always engaging – Corporate Castaways. We had 8 teams moving through the course of 4 challenges. A special shout out now goes to the team purple who came up with a very creative pig roast carrying technique used to rescue their team members in our challenge – Triage. Team purple and beige had to participate in a final tie-breaker challenge of tug-of-war, and because beige was able to recruit a few more supporters to help them out, they went home the Corporate Castaway winners. A perfect way to head into a weekend. There were no dampen spirits though as the party wrapped up and the clouds and rain rolled in on another wonderful Party in the Park.

Party in the Park Corporate Team Building Activity in Calgary

This is Kristen with another corporate event update.

Our latest Alberta event took us to the downtown Calgary park – Sien Lok. This park was a perfect location for our Party in the Park. Participants walked down from their downtown office for an afternoon barbecue and fun in the sun. Although the weather wasn’t quite cooperating, the afternoon started out with a great barbecue, followed up with some classic picnic games. Everyone enjoyed the giant Jenga, croquette, Horse shoes, and twister. But the main event definitely was the sumo wrestling tournament. We ordered some great sumo suites and people had a ton of fun, laughing and partying, watching their co-workers duel it out in the ring. There was some great prizes and at the end of the day, competition was high and there was only one winner. Participants also enjoyed the snow cone machine. Definitely, they were being brought back to their youth, walking with blue and red tongues.
