Corporate Castaways - Corporate Team Building Activity in Surrey

Hey everyone, it’s Michelle with Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

We have just finished our Corporate Castaways event at Blackie Spit Point in White Rock, in Surrey, British Columbia, for a group that works in a law office. We had 4 teams competing head to head at our Corporate Castaways challenge along the beach. It’s a gorgeous sunny day in Vancouver that day and the teams had about 2 hours to get through 7 challenges, competing head to head against other teams. We compared the scores to that of all teams and determined our winner by the end of the day. The group was very high energy; they completed a variety of cerebral and physical challenges. The group was extremely encouraging and had a lot of fun together, this is a group that works fairly closely together on a day to day basis but this got to take them out of the office, get them to have a little bit of fun and enjoy the beautiful weather that we had on this Friday afternoon.

Going Live - Corporate Team Building Activity in Abbotsford

Hey everyone, it’s Michelle with Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

We have just finished a Going Live program in Abbotsford, British Columbia for a group of credit union workers. We had about 30 people completing challenges within our Canadian Outback app. After they completed challenges, the team with the highest amount of points was awarded the last time slot to do their news broadcast and their weather reports live. The teams had a great time and their news cast and their weather reports were fantastic, they had a lot of fun. The management team of this credit union came in at the end to witness their videos live and gave the group their feedback after watching, and  everyone had a great time. We followed it with a wine and cheese session and talked about the activity and what everybody enjoyed the most. We had a group of variety of skills and levels, and roles within their company and everyone really came together and encouraged each other through every aspects of the course and of the game.

The Apprentice - Corporate Team Building Activity in Toronto

Hello everyone, it’s Dolena here with another corporate event update.

Today we are in beautiful, green area of the Dawn Valley in Toronto with a local financing company. This large group of 400 people chose to participate in the Apprentice event at the unique and gorgeous outdoor venue of evergreen Brickworks. From start to finish, this large group had a high and super positive energy. Approximately 40 teams worked together to build a children’s bicycle, decorate it and present a 2 minute, innovative marketing pitch. There was a huge variety of themed bikes from an E.T. bike to a clown car, princess bikes, and even fire safety bikes. The teams were made up of participants from all different departments in the company, so this allowed the group to interact with colleagues they don’t normally have a chance to at the office. What made this group truly finish on a high note was finding out that these bikes were being donated to 2 local charities who actually came in and spoke to the group. A little girl even picked out her favourite bike to take home. The Apprentice is a great way for this company to give back to the community.

Minute To Win It - Corporate Team Building Activity in Toronto

Hi everyone! This is Nick with Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

Today we are at Ryerson University in Toronto where we hosted a group of over 50 strategic and highly competitive finance experts. Our Minute to Win It challenge was incorporated into the agenda for the group’s annual general meeting and it gave these hard working professionals a time to let loose and have some fun. Participants got to run through 15 different challenges that let everyone get involved and show their unique strengths. We got the chance to see everyone on our “Rock Stars” and “Head Bangers”, where some contestants took it to the next level, putting their whole bodies into it like dancing, jumping and just rocking out to earn their way to victory. Towards the end of the day, this lively group kept their energy levels up and showed us their enthusiasm in a white collar cheer off. Teams got creative with props, choreography, song, dance and even acrobatics. It just goes to show you’ll never know what kind of secret talents your co-workers are hiding.

The Amazing Chase - Corporate Team Building Activity in Toronto

Hi everyone, this is Dolena with another corporate event update.

Today we were in the busy core of downtown Toronto with a local banking company. Approximately 60 people participated in our customized Amazing Chase. This chase was a great opportunity for our client to select different buildings downtown that their company has financed, and used those buildings as route markers. With many of their participants being from out of town, it was great for everyone to see their Toronto office projects while also getting to know each other in a fun and unique way using our Canadian Outback app. Some of the road blocks and detours they had along the way required them to strategize as a team, think outside of the box and in some cases, just look silly and have fun. One of my favourite challenges is seeing the teams play a good old fashion game of leap frog with some locals. It was just too funny! Overall, this group had a great time and were eager to cross the finish line. A lot of fun memories were made.

The Apprentice - Corporate Team Building Activity in Mississauga

It's Dolena with another corporate event update.

Today we are in Mississauga with a local software company who participated in the Apprentice. We had roughly 80 people participating in this unique event where they had to build a children’s bike, decorate it and present a two-minute marketing pitch. This group had so much fun. I’ve never seen such creative and well thought out marketing pitches. One of my favourite was the group who had a pink panther theme. They had a team member hide behind a table cloth and when it was dropped, they sped their way out to the crowd, with lots of energy and it was just hilarious. This group really thought outside the box and utilized all components of the bike and its packaging to create an epic masterpiece. They displayed solid teamwork and originality. The spirits were also high for everyone because these bikes were donated to a local children’s organization which is also a huge highlight for the group.

Code Break - Corporate Team Building Activity in Whistler

Hi! This is Jules with another corporate event update from Canadian Outback Adventures & Events.

Today we were in the breath taking resort town of Whistler, BC, working with a national law firm here for a multi-day conference and retreat. Today’s event was broken up into 4 different activities for this large group, with this particular group of 30 participating in a custom 60-minute Code Break activity. Using the Canadian Outback smartphone app, this group completed up to 80 various riddles, puzzles and brain teasers. The group focus for the day of meetings was “Accountability”, so that thing was incorporated into the team structure, as each team had to designate someone to be accountable for the work of the entire team. This definitely proved to be successful for all. Several of the teams divided up challenges in order to work against the clock and get as many completed as possible. One team completed the least amount of challenges out of all the teams, but they had chosen all the high scoring challenges, therefore placing them in the close second to the winning team. There was lots of discussion afterwards to see who completed what riddles and puzzles, and of course, what the right answers were.
